Abstract
The graft copolymer of starch is a new kind of functional material. The effects of ratio of acrylic acid to starch, reaction temperature, concentrations of cross-linking agent, concentrations of initiator and neutralization content of monomer on the reaction of graft co-polymerization of acrylic acid with corn starch in water solution were studied.By orthogonal experiment the optimum conditions were determined as ratio of acrylic acid to starch 8:1,reaction temperature 60℃,concentration of cross-linking agent 0.1%,concentrations of initiator 2% and neutralization content of monomer 70%,the maximum water-absorbency of polymer is 378 g/g.
