Abstract
Objective:To explore 24-hour mean pulse pressure(PP) on left ventricular hypertrophy in senile patients with essential hypertension.Methods the 136 patients with essential hypertension were enrolled in this study.All subjects ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and echocardiography.They were divided into three groups according to their 24-hour mean pulse pressure,respectively,to observe and compare the impact of PP on LVH.Results 24-hour mean PP was significantly correlated with age,LVMI(left ventricular mass index),ASI(arterial stiffness index).Conclusion The increase in pulse pressure was the important determinant of LVH in senile patients with essential hypertension.
