Abstract
[Objective] To analyze risk factors, etiology, treatment and outcome of nosocomial pulmonary fungal infections. [Methods] Patients with nosocomial pulmonary fungal infections between July 2000 and June 2007 were analyzed. [Results] All of the 45 cases were clinically diagnosed as probable nosocomial pulmonary fungal infections. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease was the major under lying diseases of respiratory system with a percent of 66.7% . Thirty nine patients (86.7%) had risk factors for fungal infections. The effective rate of antifungal treatment was 82.2%. [Conclusion] The propor- tion of infection caused by Candida is relatively high. Early and effective treatment is needed in these patients.
