Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the expressions of VEGF and p120 in breast cancer and mammary adenosis, and explore the different TNM staging, pathologic types, lymph node metastasis of breast cancer patients of the clinical significance.METHODS:The expression of VEGF and p120 in 62 cases of breast cancer and 26 cases of mammary adenosis were assessed by immunohistochemistry SP method.RESULTS: The abnormal expression rate of VEGF and p120 were 77.4%(48/62)and 80.6%(50/62) in patients with breast cancer. There were significant differences between the abnormal expression rate in breast cancer and benign breast disease(P=0.000).The expression of them had completely positively correlated with histological grade and clinical stage. But had no correlation with tumor size. The expression of VEGF had completely positively correlated with axillary lymph node status(P=0.017).The expression of p120 had no correlation with axillary lymph node status(P=0.072).The expression of VEGF and p120 are positively related in breast cancer(P=0.011).CONCLUSIONS: VEGF and p120 are important factors in the development and invasion of breast cancer metastasis.Combined detection of VEGF and p120 will be used to evaluate breast cancer prognosis and guide treatment.
