Abstract
Objective:To investigate the correlation of P16 protein expression in breast carcinoma with clinical stage. Methods:The expression of P16 protein was detected in 30 cases of breast carcinoma, 20 cases of breast fibroadenoma and 20 cases of normal breast tissue by immunohistochemistry. Results:The positive rate of P16 protein expression was 46.6% in breast carcinoma,80% in breast fibroadenoma,85% in normal breast tissue. There was significant difference of positive rate among these three groups ( P 0.05).Conclusion:The abnormal P16 protein expression plays an important role in development of breast carcinoma. There is remarkable correlation of abnormal P16 protein expression with clinical stage.
