Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of community health education in patients with hypertension. Methods Retrospective analysis and questionnaire survey were performed in 100 patients with hypertension. The patients with hypertension were divided into two groups, i.e., experimental group(n=50) and control group(n=50). The patients in experimental group received targeted health education, and the patients in control group received routine health education. To compare the level of knowledge about hypertension between the two groups after education, the same questionnaire survey was carried out three months later. Results Both groups had increased levels of knowledge about hypertension after the health education in community. The total antihypertensive effective rates in the experimental group and control group were 84% and 60%, respectively. However, compared with the control group, the experimental group had significantly better effect of health education(P0.05). Conclusion The application of health education of hypertension in community can effectively control hypertension. Therefore, to enhance the spreading of knowledge about hypertension and other chronic diseases is valuable for prevention and treatment.
