A New Probe on the Dramatic Connotation of XU Wei's Ben-se Theory

Although the Ben-se theory of Ming Dynasty is generally considered to involve drama language,XU Wei's Ben-se theory is unique with rich connotations.Apart from drama language,XU's theory has covered many drama problems,such as drama aesthetic standard,character creation,writing techniques,phonological rules and artistic personality,and so on.His theory,because of its rich connotations,has guided and inspired drama creation and theoretical expression from then on,and laid a theoretical basis for the arrival of classical drama peak in the Late Ming and Early Qing.
