Correction of epicanthus combined with double eyelids operation

Objective To explore a new method with flexible operation and satisfied effect to correct epicanthus combined with a double eyelid surgery to achieve the effect that not only the natural eye appearance,but also the traces left by surgery not obvious.Methods From May 2010 to May 2011,27 cases with single-eyelid and epicanthus were applied a double eyelid plasty combined with epicanthus correction.Results All of the cases received follows-up from 1 month to 1 year.Satisfied appearances of double eyelid were gained in patients and no recurrence of epicanthus and hypertrophic scar were observed.Conclusion This method combined epicanthus correction and double eyelid surgery is a simple designed,flexible operation.Therefore this modified methods is one of the ideal surgical methods to correct single eyelid and epicanthus together.
