Abstract

The frequent and severe filamentous bulking in activate sludge process is systematically discussed. The types and characteristics of filamentous causing sludge bulking is presented. The main causes and mechanism of bulking is also analyzed. The control ways are described according to the newest research achievements of sludge bulking in the world in the nearly twenty years.
