Abstract
During the early Ming Dynasty, the poets advocated studying the evolution of the Tang Dynasty's poetry according to historical evolution, and praising those poetry of prosperity years. Under the background, Gao Bing finished his selected poetry ,Tangshipinhui and Tangshizhengsheng. He divided the Tang Dynasty's poetry into four periods, acknowledged the forms and styles of the poetry, and believed that the poetry created in the prosperous period of the Tang Dynasty was orthodox. It set up the Tang Dynasty's poetics of the early Ming Dynasty, and had great influence on Tang poetry in the Ming Dynasty. But his theory was the result of his age, so it had limitations yet.
