Abstract

The seven scholars of Yunjian School in Late Ming and Early Qing Dynasty advocate the idea of the revival of Tang Dynasty poetry. This article probes the background, connotation of this theory and its influence on the debate over poetry of Tang and Song Dynasty at that time. Theory of this school respects poems of Tang Dynasty, believing the declination of those of Song Dynasty, while the revitalization of poems of Ming Dynasty lies in its contribution concerning theory and literary creation. Yunjian School ushers the debate over poetry of Tang and Song Dynasty.
