Abstract
When Hemingway's outlook on nature in his works is studied from the perspective of ecocriticism as the theoretical support,it is discovered that Hemingway's ecological ambivalence is implicated: On the one hand,he loved nature and condemned the ways of human beings in conquering nature; On the other hand,he did his utmost to advocate values of Anthropocentrism and liked conquering nature spiritually.Studying Hemingway's writings with ecocriticism can impel us to consider how human beings should self-define and how to live in harmony with nature.
