Abstract

Objective:To study the value of measuring plasma level of brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) in patients with a-cute coronary syndrome(ACS) of different periods. Methods:The plasma levels of BNP of patients with ACS and control people were determined by enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay.80 patients with ACS were divided into acute myocardial infarction(AMI) group(group AMI, 45 cases) and unstable angina(UA) group(group UA, 35 cases).BNP was measured and compared in 80 patients and 20 healthy control people within 0.5, 2, 6, 24 h after the onset of symptoms.Serum cardiac troponin I(cTnI) of both AMI group and UA group 6 hours after the onset of symptoms was determined. Results:At the 0.5th h after the onset of symptoms, BNP level of AMI group and UA group were(118.1±46.2) pg/ml and(90.8±54.6) pg/ml respectively;at the 2ed h, BNP level of AMI group and UA group were(203.2±105.3) pg/ml and(134.7±78.5) pg/ml respectively;at the 6th h, BNP level of AMI group and UA group were(456.4 ±118.4) pg/ml and(357.4±144.3) pg/ml respectively;at the 24th h, BNP level of AMI group and UA group were(807.3±148.5) pg/ml and(779.6±136.1) pg/ml respectively, all were significantly higher than the BNP level of control group(50.3 ±25.4) pg/ml(P0.01).At the 6th h, the BNP level and cTnI level were positive correlated(r=0.589, P0.01).At the 24th h, BNP levels of AMI group and UA group were far more than that of the 6th h(P0.01).Conclusion:These results suggest that BNP has a strong association with ACS, BNP and cTnI have significant correlation, BNP can be used as a diagnostic parameter for early diagnosis of ACS.
