Abstract

Objective:To acknowledge the work of evaluation by self for iodine deficiency disorders(IDD) elimination in Sichuan province and establish the strategies for sustainable elimination of IDD.Methods:We sampled seven counties randomly. This research work had been done by using several methods such as listenting report, checking materials, spot sampling,et al,according to national assessment methods. Results:The proportion of households consuming effectively iodized salt was 76 7%.The media iodized salt was 40 37mg/kg and the CV was 27 8%;The qualified rate about iodized salt of factory and storehouse was 52 8% and the average was 44 3mg/kg;The qualified rate about iodized salt of spot selling was 74 3%.The media urinary iodine concentration was 326 0ug/L of children and the total goiter prevalence was 10 4%.The qualified rate of questionaire investigation about students and housewives was 72 5% and 67 1%,respectively.Conclusion:The media urinary iodine concentration and the total goiter prevalence had completed the IDD elimination. But the qualified rate about iodized salt had not accomplished.
