Abstract

Objective To observe the efficacy of small incision cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation combined with trabeculectomy in treatment of glaucoma complicated with cataract. Methods Forty-six cases(48 eyes) of glaucoma complicated with cataract were treated by combined operations, and the curative effect was observed for 3 months after operation. Results After follow-up for 3 months, the uncorrected visual acuity in all patients had been improved after operation, visual acuity at 0.1~0.3 in 1 eye, visual acuity at 0.3~ 0.5 in 2 eyes, and vision 0.5 in 45 eyes. Conclusion The result of small incision cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation combined with trabeculectomy in treatment of glaucoma complicated with cataract is encouraging with good operation effect, and it is worthy to be recommended for clinical application.
