Abstract
Objective To explore therapeutic effect, advantages and shortcomings of pleural effusion controlled by interrupted drainage via central venous catheter. Methods The research group had 66 cases of pleural effusion controlled by interrupted drainage via central venous catheter, the control group had 48 cases with pleural effusion controlled by conventional pleuracentesis. We observed pleural effusion disappearing time, average hospitalization time, pleuracentesis frequency, related therapy expenses and complications of two groups and compared them. Results The pleural effusion disappearing time, average hospitalization time, pleuracentesis frequency, related therapy expenses and per capita incidence of complications of the research group were 1.11 times,(4.0±2.6) days,(9.6±3.0)days,(256±45) yuan and 12.1% respectively;the control group were 4.08 times,(8.9±3.1)days,(15.7±4.2)days,(432±57) yuan and 31.3% respectively. The differences between the two groups were particularly remarkable(P0.01 or P0.05).Conclusion The therapy of pleural effusion controlled by interrupted drainage via central venous catheter is safe, convenient, ecomomical and microtraumatic,it is worth of being a wider use.
