The efficacy and safety of central venous catheter in the pleural effusion

Objective To investigate the central venous catheter in the treatment of pleural effusion and efficacy.Methods 86 cases of pleural effusion patients to our hospital between January 2009 to December 2010 as the object of study,were randomly divided into observation group and control group,the observed group was given a central venous catheter drainage in the treatment control group with traditional chest puncture fluid technique,observation records of patients with pleural effusion subsided,pleural effusion stimulate concurrent relief of symptoms and hospital days.Results The pleural effusion subsided time of the observation group,the pleural fluid to stimulate the correlation between symptoms time and length of hospital stay was significantly shorter than the control group the difference was statistically significant.Complications in the observation group pleural reaction,significant difference compared with the control group.Conclusion central venous catheter drainage method,and pleural puncture fluids surgery in the treatment of pleural effusion has played a good effect,and no serious complications.
