Abstract
Objective To explore the relation between C reactive protein (CRP) concentration and existence of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Methods CRP concentrations were measured in 40 patients with Coronary heart disease (CHD) (23 patients in the unstable angina group, 17 patients in the acute myocardial infarction group) and compared with those of 20 cases as normal control group (CHD was absent in this group). Results CRP concentration in patients with the two sorts of ACS was not significantly higher than that in normal control group and there was not a significant positive relation between the unstable angina group and acute myocardial infarction group about CRP level. Conclusion CRP concentration might not be used as an index for evaluating the existence of acute coronary syndrome.
