Abstract
Objective To study the changes of C reactive protein (CRP) in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS),range of coronary stenosis and lipid level in the patients with ACS. Methods 96 patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) approved by coronary artery angiography (CAG) were divided into 2 groups.One group was 53 patients with ACS including 21 patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and 32 patients with unstable angina pectoris.The another group was definded as 43 patients with non acute coronary syndrome (NACS) including 14 patients with old myocardial infarction and 29 patients with stable angina pectoris.CRP,TC,TG,HDL C and LDL C were tested in all patients and compared with 32 control group. Results Level of CRP in ACS group was significantly higher than that in NACS (P0.05) and control (P0.01) groups.CRP in NACS group was also significantly higher than that in control group (P0.01).The levels of CRP in both ACS and NACS groups were positive correlated with range of coronary stenosis,but not correlated with lipid levels in each subgroups. Conclusion Occurrence of ACS is related to inflammation,which may be one of the factors of bringing about plaque unstable.Increased CRP may also affect the formation of atherosclerosis and related with the range of coronary stenosis.
