Abstract
Objective To study the correlation of serum brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) with high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) and cardiac troponin I(cTNI) in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS),thus to investigate the clinical meaning of BNP as a new biochemistry marker in risk stratification of ACS patients. Methods Patients with ACS including 21 cases of acute myocardial infarction(AMI) patients and 20 cases of unstable angina pectoris(UAP) patients;29 cases of stable angina pectoris(SAP) and 30 patients without cardiovascular diseases(control group) were enrolled. The serum level of BNP,hs-CRP and cTNI were tested. The data was analyzed with SPSS11.5 statistical software. Results The serum level of BNP in AMI and UAP patients was significantly higher than that in SAP and control patients(P0.05).The serum level of BNP was positive correlated with hs-CRP and cTNI(r was 0.91 and 0.67 respectively,P0.05) in ACS group. Conclusions The serum level of BNP is significantly higher in ACS patients. It may be another biochemistry marker to predict the prognosis and risk stratification of ACS patients.
