The evalration of Hand ProTaper NiTi instruments in root canal therapy for elder patients

Objective: To compare the effect of Hand ProTaper NiTi instruments and hand K rasp tile in root canal therapy. Methods: There were 127 elder patients with 138 offending teeth. 65 men in hand ProTaper team with 72 offending teeth were treated as the experimental group;62 men in hand K rasp group with 66 offending teeth were treated as the control group. Results: No syndrome occurs in the root canal of the experimental group, such as root canal transportation,root apiex blocked,sidestep forming, nor apical foramen zipping.In addition,either taper or fluency of the root canal in the experimental group was super fine. Whereas in control group, 5 root apieces were blocked,3 root canals formed the sidestep at the 1/3 of the root apiex,apical foramen transportation of mild or moderate occurred in 5 medium and 4 severe crooked root canal. Conclusion: The two types of instruments prepared in root canal therapy are significant different. The tooth cleaning effect of ProTaper NiTi instruments is superior in terms of maintaining the shape and filling quality of the original root canal.
