Effectiveness of foreign language classroom teaching:A case study of an outstanding teaching episode in the Third SFLEP National Foreign Language Teaching Contest

This paper proposes 7 essential factors contributing to the effectiveness of foreign language classroom teaching.Specifically,these factors include appropriate teaching objectives,feasible lesson planning,varied teaching materials,flexible teaching skills,good classroom rapport,effective classroom assessment and in-depth teaching reflection.Based on the 7 factors and by qualitative and quantitative methods,the paper makes an intensive analysis of an outstanding classroom teaching episode in the Third SFLEP National Foreign Language Teaching Contest.Through the case study,the paper provides practical means to explore effective foreign language classroom teaching.
