Expression of Survivin and VEGF protein in prostate carcinoma and their correlation research

Objective Through detecting the expression of inhibitor of Survivin and VEGF in prostate carcinoma(PCa) and benign prostate hyperplasia(BPH) tissue,to analyze the relationship of Survivin and VEGF gene expression and Gleason score,clinical stage in prostate cancer.Methods The expression of Survivin and VEGF in the tissue of 20 BPH and 40 PCa was detected,the expression in different pathological grades and with bone or non-bone metastasis of prostate cancer with immunohistochemistry.Results The expression of Survivin and VEGF in PCa were 87.5% and 90.0%,there was a significant difference(P 0.05).The expression of Survivin in lower-middle-score and high PCa group were 65.0% and 95.0% respectively,there was a significant difference(P 0.05);the expression of VEGF were 70.0% and 100.0% respectively,there was a significant difference(P 0.05).The expression of Survivin in the group with bone metastasis and non-Bone metastasis were 87.6% and 44.0%,there was a significant difference(P 0.05).The expression of VEGF were 72.0% and 93.3%,there was a significant difference(P 0.05).The expression of Survivin and VEGF were positively correlated in PCa(r = 0.378,P = 0.017 0.05).Conclusion The expression of Survivin and VEGF are closely related to the pathological grade and distant bone metastasis,so the detection of Survivin and VEGF can provide the basis for the judgment of prostate cancer progression and prognosis.Survivin and VEGF play synergetic roles in the occurrence and development of PCa.
