Abstract

Objective To study blood rheology changes during the development of cerebral thrombosis in order to provide a reference for brain disease diagnosis and prevention. Methods Patients with brain cancers(n=60),cerebral infarction(n=40),ischemic cerebrovascular disease(n=30)and healthy controls(n=60)were tested for hemorheology indices including activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT),prothrombin time(PT),thrombin time(TT),platelet(PLT)counting, fibrinogen(FIB),protein C(PC)and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1(PAI-1).Results No significant difference in APTT,PT,TT between brain cancer group and healthy controls was found(P0.05).However,APTT,PT and TT of the cerebral infarction group and ischemic cerebrovascular disease group were significantly greater than those of control group(P0.05).PLT of ischemic cerebrovascular disease group, cerebral infarction group and brain cancer group was lower than that of the control group, but was significantly higher in brain cancer group than in cerebral infarction group(P0.05).FIB of ischemic cerebrovascular disease group and cerebral infarction group was lower than that of the control group, and there was also significant difference between ischemic cerebrovascular disease group and cerebral infarction group(P0.05).Plasma PC activity of ischemic cerebrovascular disease group, cerebral infarction group and brain cancer group was lower than of the control group, but was significantly higher in brain cancer group than cerebral infarction group(P0.05).PAI-1 of cerebral infarction group and brain cancer group was significantly higher than that of the control group and ischemic cerebrovascular disease group(P0.05).Conclusion Significant differences exist in terms of blood coagulation, anticoagulation, platelet function and prethrombotic status in the development of cerebral thrombosis in ischemic cerebrovascular disease, cerebral infarction and brain cancer patients. Therefore, blood rheology related molecular markers may be used for monitoring early brain cancer thrombosis in laboratory.
