Discussion on the Teaching Mode for Independent Study of College English in the Cyberized Environment

The Ministry of Education pointed out in the new cycle of teaching reform for College English that the teaching of College English aims at fostering college students' ability of comprehensive use of English and that of their independent study.The key to the realization of this teaching goal is to revise the traditional classroom teaching mode that deviates from the teaching goal of College English and the language learning law,to seize the chance that modern information technique has brought,and to probe into the new teaching mode for independent study.In line with the reform in College English teaching mode made by Zhejiang Shuren University,the paper intends to discuss the background,theoretical basis,reform content and initial success of constructing the teaching mode for independent study as well as the inspiration from the reform.
