Abstract

Prof.Qiu Zihua is the pathbreaker of oriental aesthetics. In the past twenty years, Prof.Qiu researched into Western Aesthetics, especially Aesthetics of Tragedy and Hegel, by way of cultural philosophy and dialectic,and expounded many new views. He founds oriental aesthetics through some new ways including ethnology. Prof.Qiu initiates a new field and offers many enlightened visual angles for the study of aesthetics. His spirit of teaching and studying urges a good many younger scholars.
