Abstract
Objective To compare the clinical effect, patient hospital stay, and expenses between supra anal cushion mucosa ligation and traditional hemorrhoid ligation in treatment of stageⅢprolaps hemorrhoids. Methods A total of 60 patients with stageⅢprolaps hemorrhoids were divided into two groups. The therapeutic group included 30 who received supra anal cusion mucosa ligation and the other 30 in the control group received traditional hemorrhoid ligation. The curative rate, hospital stay and total expenses were observed for the two groups. Results The prolapse symptoms disappeared in both groups after operation, and the hemorrhoid volumes were greatly decreased, with the curative rates being 100%in both groups. The mean hospital stay was (20.7±4.7) d in the therapeutic group, which was significantly shorter than that in the control group([24.6±4.6]d,P0.05).The mean expense in the therapeutic group was(5 190.4±765.6) yuan, which was significantly less than that of the control group([5 727.8±784.1]yuan,P0.05).Conclusion Supra anal cushion mucosa ligation can yield a similar curative rate as traditional hemorrhoid ligation in treatment of stageⅢprolaps hemorrhoids, and the patients have a rapid recovery, shorter hospital stay and less expense.
