Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effect and safety of ureteroscopic holmium:YAG laser lithotripsy for ureteral calculi. Methods 562 patients with ureteral calculi(42 cases on proximal,86 cases on middle and 434 cases on distal ureter) were treated with ureteroscopic holmium:YAG laser lithotripsy. Results The lithagogue rate was 88%,93% and 99% in the proximal, middle and distal ureter, respectively. The complication rate was 3%.Conclusion It is effective and safe to treat ureteral calculi with ureteroscopic holmium:YAG laser lithotripsy.
