Abstract
A HPLC method for determination of ginkgolic acid in extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves (EGb) was presented. EGb was extracted with chloroform. After removed of the solvent the dried residue was dissolved in methanol and determined by HPLC. A Hypersil C 18 column was used, with mobile phase of methanol water acetic acid (85∶14.5∶0.5), at column temperature of 30°C, and detection wavelength of 311 nm. The calibration curve was linear in the concentration range of 2~32 μg/ml ( r =0.9999). The average recovery was 99.4% with RSD of 1.2%. The detection limit was 5 ng.
