Abstract
Objective To observe the effects of different kinds of estrogen on the function of endocrine-immune system in ovariectomized (OVX) rats. Methods Fourty-eight female SD rats of 3~5months old were randomly divided into 8 groups. OVX group,Sham group,OVX+estradiol valerate 0.8mg·kg-1·d-1 group(A),OVX+estradiol valerate 0.4mg·kg-1·d-1+ipriflavone 50mg·kg-1·d-1 group(B),OVX+estradiol valerate 0.4mg·kg-1·d-1+ipriflavone 100mg·kg-1·d-1 group (C),OVX+ipriflavone 100mg·kg-1·d-1 group (D),OVX+raloxifene 5mg·kg-1·d-1 group (E),and OVX+tibolone 0.25mg·kg-1·d-1 group (F). Each group had 6 rats and treated by different kinds of estrogen for 12 weeks. Rats of all groups were sacrificed 12 weeks later. Serum estradiol levels and the expressions of CD3+,CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ were measured by radioimmunoity and flowcytometry. And the weight of the uterus, adrenal, spleen and thymus were determined, respectively. Results (1)The level of serum E2 in OVX group decreased significantly compared with that in sham group (P0.05). E2 level in A, B, C groups were remarkable higher than that in OVX group (P0.01). And the E2 level in A group increased obviously compared with that in sham group (P0.05). (2)To compared with sham group, the expressions of CD3+, CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ in OVX group decreased remarkably(P0.01). And the expressions of CD3+, CD4+ of treatment groups were higher than those of OVX group (P0.05).(3)The weight of the uterus, adrenal, spleen and thymus in OVX group decreased remarkably compared with that in sham group (P0.05). To compared with OVX group, weights of the uterus, adrenal and the thymus in A, B, C, F groups increased significantly (P0.05). Conclusion Estrogens might effectively enhance the function of the endocrine-immune system in ovariectomized rats.
