The influence of Jiarongpian on endometrium in ovariectomized rats

Objective To investigate the influence of Jiarongpian-one kind of traditional Chinese medicine on endometrium of ovariectomized rats.Methods Sixty SD female rats(two months old) were randomly divided into six groups: sham-operation group(Sham group),ovariectomized group(OVX group),ovariectomized and treated with estradiol valerate group(OVX+EV group,ovariectomized and treated with Jiarongpian group(OVX+JRP group),ovariectomized and treated with estradiol valerate and Jiarongpian group(OVX+EV+JRP group).A week after ovariectomy,each group began to administration for continuous 28 days,including Sham group and OVX group given saline.After the treatment,all rats were killed and the endometria were removed and processed for histopathological examination.Results Compared with the Sham group,the indicators of OVX group,including the height of endometrium,height of endometrial epithelia cell,height of glands epithelia cell and cavity diameter of endometrial glands significantly reduced(P0.01),which proved successfully in ovariectomized.Compared with the OVX group,treatment group OVX+EV+JRP group and OVX+EV group,all data were significantly different(P0.01),and OVX+JRP group,despite the increase,but no significant difference(P0.05).OVX+EV+JRP group compared with OVX+EV group,except the height of glands epithelia cell,all other indicators have increased significantly(P0.05).Conclusion The effect of Jiarongpian on the endometrium in ovariectomized rats in case of estrogen deficiency is week,but combination with the estrogen it is obvious.
