Abstract
Objective: To study the therapeutic efficacy of intrapersonal injection of cisplatin(DDP) and interleukin-2(IL-2) in malignant pleural effusions.Methods: Fifty-eight patients with malignant pleural effusion were divided randomly into 2 groups.cisplatin(DDP) and IL-2 were injected into pleural Cavity in therapy Group(T),and only DDP was given in control group(C).Then the efficacy toxicity and quality of life were evaluated.Results: The response rate was 84.4% in T group and 57.7% in C group.The difference was significant(P0.05).The Kamofsky score was higher in T group than that of the control group(P0.05).Adverse effects were no significant difference in two groups(P0.05).Conclusions: The results suggest that intrapleural injection of DDP and IL-2 may be safe and effective in treating malignant pleural effusion.
