Abstract

Objective To investigate the status of residents' knowledge and skills about evacuation and self-aid from public health emergency events in Jilin Province,and to provide scientific basis for establishing related strategies and policies.Methods With multi-stage systematic sampling,1994 residents aged 18 years old and above were conducted a survey in Jilin Province.Results The awareness rates of urban residents about traffic accidents was 66.33%,higher than that of rural residents which was 18.97%(P0.05).The awareness rates of rural residents about pestis and radioactive accidents were 86.78% and 66.29%,respectively,higher than those of urban residents(P0.05).The awareness rates of urban and rural residents about typhoid were 15.38% and 23.33%,respectively.Conclusion The awareness rate of residents' knowledge about evacuation and self-aid from public health emergency events in Jilin Province was low certainly.There was significant difference between the awareness of urban and rural residents.Different intervention to certain residents should be applied to improve the awareness rate of residents' knowledge and the mastering rate of skills about evacuation and self-aid from public health emergency events.
