Abstract

[Objective]The aim was to establish a HPLC method for the content determination of natural quercetin in different parts of Houttuynia cordata Thunb.[Methods] The combination between the cellulase and ultrasonic extracting was used;and the chromatographic column was XDB-C18(4.6 mm×150 mm,5 μm),mobile phase was acetonitrile-1% acetic acid(40∶60),column temperature was 25 ℃,and the flow velocity was 0.8 ml/min,the detection wavelength was 370 nm.[Result] There was good linear relationship for linear within the range of 0.1-14.4 μg/ml(r=0.999 9) and the average recovery of quercetin in the roots of Houttuynia cordata Thunb samples was 99.2% and RSD was 3.9%.The average recovery of quercetin in the stems and leaves of Houttuynia cordata Thunb was 98.8% and RSD was 3.8%.[Conclusion]The established methods had many advantages, such as effective separating effect, speciality, simple operation, accurate results and good reproducibility, therefore,it can be applied for the determination of quercetin in Houttuynia cordata Thunb.
