Abstract
Objective To study the wound healing effect of Liu burn ointment on New Zealand rabbits with deep Ⅱ degree burn. Methods New Zealand rabbits were first anesthetized, then a water bath method was used to copy the deep Ⅱ degree burn model. The self-control method was used on each animal and every of them had 5 burn sites, which were treated with normal saline,5% Zinc sulfasalazine ointment,Liu burn ointment with low, medium and high doses, respectively.Transparent vellum method was used to compare scald wound healing rate among animals in different groups and fully wound healing time was recorded. On day 7,14,21,quantitative histopathological evaluation was carried out. Results On day 4,7,10,14,21,28,compared with the negative control group, wound healing rate of the Zinc sulfasalazine ointment group,Liu burn ointment with low, medium and high doses group was increased(P 0.01);fully wound healed time was shortened(P 0.05);on day 7,21,histopathology score had no significant difference among different groups(P 0.05),but on day 14,the scores of Zinc sulfasalazine ointment group,Liu burn ointment with low, medium and high doses group were significantly higher than that of normal saline group. Conclusions Liu burn ointment can significantly improve wound healing rate, shorten healing time and accelerate wound healing on deep Ⅱ degree burned wound of New Zealand rabbits.
