Abstract
AIM:To study the active constituents with the purgative action and to establish quality standard in Semen pharbitidis. METHOD: Separation and purification were performed on silica gel and sephadex LH-20,and the structures were elucidated by various spectroscopic data. RESULT: Eight compounds were isolated from n-Butanol fraction and ethyl acetate fraction of 70% ethanol extract,and identified as physcion(Ⅰ),emodin(Ⅱ),chrysophanol(Ⅲ),ethyl caffeate(Ⅳ),caffeic acid(Ⅴ),α-ethyl-O-D-galactopyran(Ⅵ),daucosterol(Ⅶ),β-sitosterol(Ⅷ),respectively. CONCLUSION: Compounds Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ,Ⅴ,Ⅵ were isolated from the genus Pharbitis for the first time.
