Abstract
The black activated dye wastewater was treated by oxidation-flocculation with iron aluminum sulphate as flocculant and KMnO4 as an oxidant. The influences of main factors on the decolorization rate and removal of COD have been investigated, such as flocculant amount added, oxidant amount added, flocculating time, temperature and pH value in wastewater. The results show that the optimum condition is: temperature 30 ℃,flocculating time 1 h,pH value 1,mole ratio of flocculant to oxidant 3.45∶0.14,with decolorization rate of 99.13% and COD removal rate of 66.81%.The decolorization rate will grow to 99.88% and the removal rate of COD to 85.13% by using a two-stage processes. When the wastewater is secondary treated by brick powders, the decolorization rate and the COD removal rate will reach 99.24% and 77.05% respectively.
