Abstract

Objective: To study the expression and clinical significance of proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) and heat shock proteins 70 (HSP70) in astrocytoma. Methods: Detected the expression of PCHA and HSP70 in 43 paraffin embedded specimens was detected, which were human brain astrochtoglioma from pathologic gradeⅠto grade Ⅳ,by immunohistochemical method in order to analyse the relationship between their expression and the clinical pathological characteristics and the correlation between the expression of PCNA and HSP70. Result: The expression of PCNA and HSP70 in astrocytoma was significantly stronger than that in the normal brain tissue ,and the increase in positive rate of their expression was correlated with the pathological degree of gliomas. There was a great difference among the different tumor pathological degree. Expression of PCNA had a positive correlation with that of HSP70. Conclusion: The detection of PCNA and HSP70 expression in tumor tissues can show the proliferating station of tumor cells and assess patient抯 prognosis rapidly and precisely .with great significance in assessing the malignant degree of glioma and guiding clinic therapy.
