Determination of Synthetic Borneol in Compound Sarcandra Glabra Ointment by GC

Abstract

Objective To establish a gas chromatography(GC) method for determination of synthetic borneol in compound Sarcandra Glabra ointment.Methods Methyl salicylate was used as internal standard substance.The gas chromatographic analysis was performed using PEG-20M capillary column,highly pure N 2 was adopted as carrier gas at the flow rate of 1.2 mL.min-1,the inlet port temperature was 200℃ and the FID detector temperature was 220℃.The column temperature was raised by program and the content of synthetic borneol was calculated with internal standard method.Results The linear range of synthetic borneol was 60.86~405.76 μg.mL-1(r=0.9998),the average recovery was 100.62%(RSD=0.85%).Conclusion The method is accurate,sensitive and reproducible,which can be used for the quality control of compound Sarcandra Glabra ointment.
