Abstract
In order to study the combustion characteristics of biomass, pyrolysis rules of typical biomass(including stalks of beans, maize, cotton, banyan leaves, green bristlegrass, and reed) were studied by using thermogravimetric analysis. Results showed that the combustion of biomass was mainly the burning of volatile components and this combustion process was a mixed process in which the gas phase burning was main reaction but other combustion process also existed. The activation energy of biomass was lower than other fuels, which could be used as auxiliary fuel to the combustion power generation of municipal solid waste(MSW). The first-order reaction kinetic model could better describe the biomass pyrolysis process.
