Abstract
Objective To observe the expression of p16 and p27 protein in thyroid neoplasm .Methods Immunohistochemical staining was used to determine the expression of p16 and p27 protein in 36 thyroid carcinomas and 10 adenomas. Results The expression rate of P16 in thyroid carcinoma was 67.11 %, which was significantly higher than that in adenoma(20%, (P0.05). The positive expression rate of p27 protein in thyroid carcinoma was 72%,which was significantly higher than that in adenoma(20%,P0.05).The expression ofp16 and p27 protein decreased as the degree of differentiation decreased. Conclusion The expression of p16 and p27 may have correlation with biological behavior of thyroid neoplasms,it may be helpful in distinguishing benign and malignant thyroid neoplasms. And it can be a reference marker to estimate the degree of differentiation of thyroid neoplasms.
