Abstract

Objective To analyze the features of two proliferative antigens,Ki-67 and PCNA in tissues of cervical carcinoma patients. Methods The tissue sections of 57 patients with cervical carcinoma(including carcinoma in situ, early invasive carcinoma and invasive carcinoma)were stained and observed with immunohistochemistry, then the results of the expression of Ki-67 and PCNA were compared.Meantime 9 patients with chronic cervicitis were taken as control. Results Ki-67 was not expressed in patients with chronic cervicitis, while PCNA was expressed on the basal cells in 8 patients. The intensity of expression of PCNA antigen in cervical tissues was obviously higher than that of Ki-67 in patients with cervical carcinoma, showing significant diference(P0.01).Conclusion The intensity of expression of PCNA in patients with cervical carcinoma is higher and there are individual features in proliferation of the two antigens.
