Abstract

Objective To investigate clinical significance of DSA on moyamoya disease. Methods Examination results of DSA 26 patients diagnosing moyamoya disease were analyzed retrospectively. Results DSA features of 26 moyamoya disease patients were as follows:various degrees of abnormal vascular networks at the base of the brain, artery involvement were stenosis or occlusions and abundant collateral circulation. In 24 patients, unilateral or bilateral anterior cerebral artery, middle cerebral artery and posterior cerebral artery existed various degrees of stenosis or occlusive lesions.18 patients were bilateral internal carotid arteries stenosis or occlusions on the distal segments, and in 7 patients were affected on one side. Conclusion DSA is the main method of moyamoya disease diagnosis,in patients clinically suspected of having this disease DSA should be performed as early as possible.
