On Characteristics of Currency Circulation in Song Dynasty

Abstract

The currency circulation of Song Dynasty is characterized with accumulation of currencies,circulation imbalance in different places and the change with seasons,which may be independent systems and meanwhile are united.This makes the currency circulation of Song Dynasty strikingly different from those of other Dynasties.In addition,money shortage is another feature of the currency circulation of the Dynasty.This just took place in the period when the molding of copper coins reached its peak in North Song Dynasty.
