Abstract
Six sigma methodology aims at eliminating variations, stabilizing the process, gaining customer satisfaction, and improving performance dramatically, while lean production focuses on reducing waste, optimizing the process, and cutting down the cost. This article points out the advantages and disadvantages in lean production and Six Sigma management by comparison, illustrates the advantages of their combination——both lean production and Six Sigma essentially aim at continuous improvement, and take many reciprocally complementary advantages.Based on the knowledge of lean and Six Sigma,it digs the integrated route of lean and Six Sigma.Lean Six Sigma, which is the integration of lean and Six Sigma, can create a competitive advantage surpassing other competitors.
