Abstract

Objective:To study the correlation between serum C_reactive protein(CRP)and the pathogenesis of unstable angina pectoris(UAP).Methods:The serum concentrations of C_reactive protein were measured in72patients with UAP and95healthy controls by immunonephelometry.Meanwhile the blood lipids and blood sugar were measured, and the coronary angiography were conducted in the patients with UAP.Results:(1)The levels of serum CRP in UAP patients were significantly higher than those in controls(P0.01).(2)The levels of serum CRP were not affected by the risk factors of coronary heart disease such as hypercholestorolemia, hyperˉtension, smoking, diabetes mellitus, and the family history of coronary heart diseases as well as sex.(3)The levels of CRP in UAP patients were not related to the lesion scores of coronary arteries that reflect degree of stenosis(P0.05).Conclusion:CRP is another independent risk factor of coronary heart disease. The pathogenesis of UAP is related to inflammation of atherosclerosis plaque in coronary artery.
