Clinical observation of Chinese herbal compound combined with chemotherapy in treating patients with advanced gastric cancer

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of the Chinese herbal compound combined with chemotherapy on advanced gastric cancer.Methods Seventy-two patients were randomly divided into two groups,36 patients in treatment group treated by the Chinese herbal combined with chemotherapy;36 patients in control group treated only by chemotherapy.Results The gastrointestinal reaction and the bone marrow depression effect of TCM in treatment group was lower than that of the control group,there was significant difference between the two groups(P0.05 or P0.01) .The KPS in treatment group and control group were 88.89% and 58.33% respectively.The treatment group obviously improved quality of life compared with the control group.The effective rate of the treatment group was better than that of the control group in recent clinical curative effect.Conclusions The Chinese herhal compound can decresae the side-effects caused by chemotherapy,and improve the general condition and the life quality of the patients.
