Language is not only a tool and important way for human communication on ideas but also the reflection of the real world by our objective consciousness. Metaphor is the very basic part of language cognition. Thus the comparative study of metaphor in both systemic functional linguistics and cognitive linguistics has the essential guiding and practical significance for solving existing grammatical metaphor problems.
