Abstract
Objective:To explore the mechanism of hypotensive effect of Zhenge Hypotension Recipe(ZGH).Methods:Thirty spontaneous hy- pertension rats(SHR)were divided into the control group,the nifedipine group,the high and low dose of ZGH groups.The drugs were administered once a day by gastrogavage for 14 days successively.Blood of animals was collected from eye-hall to determine the serum content of nitric oxide(NO)and plasma content of endothelin(ET).Results:The serum content of NO in high dose ZGH group was 133.7±9.9μmol/L,which was higher than that in the control group(118.7±10.9μmol/L)significantly(P0.01),but no signifi- cant difference was shown in comparison between the low dose ZGH group and the control group.ET level in the high and low dose ZGH group was 254.94±98.22ng/L and 357.06±104.69 ng/L respectively,which were lower than that in the control group (468.10±63.49ng/L)significantly(all P0.01).Conclusion:ZGH could raise the serum content of NO in SHR and lower the plas- ma content of ET,hence could increase NO/ET ratio,and thus Lower the blood pressure.
