Abstract
The wavemaking resistance of a new type of trimaran-Ovoid-type Hullform, which was proposed by some Japanese researchers, was calculated using a method based on Noblesse's New Slender-ship Theory.Between the numerical results and the experimental data the comparisons were made, which show satisfactory agreement, especially in high speed range. In addition, the effects of line integral and restricting the wave-steepness of the elementary waves were estimated numerically. Also, the optimization of outer hulls location of the trimaran for minimizing wavemaking resistance was considered. Some useful conclusions were obtained.
